Introduction to distillation tower
       Whether it is equilibrium distillation or simple distillation, although it can achieve some separation effects, it cannot separate a mixture into products with some purity. In petrochemical production, it is often required to obtain products of high purity, which can be obtained through the distillation process.
       The equipment used in the distillation process is called a distillation tower, which can be roughly divided into two categories:①In a plate tower, the gas and liquid phases generally make multiple counter-current contacts, and the gas and liquid phases on each layer generally make cross-flow.②In the packed tower, the gas and liquid phases are in continuous counter-current contact.
       A general distillation unit consists of a distillation tower, condenser, reflux tank, reboiler and other equipment. The feed enters the tower from a certain tray in the distillation tower. This tray is called the feed plate. The feed plate divides the distillation tower into upper and lower sections. The part above the feed plate is called the distillation section, and the part below the feed plate is called the stripping section.
