Main uses and scope of application
As an organic chemical raw material, furfural is widely used in rubber, medicine, chemicals, dyes, synthetic resins, paints, electrical insulation materials, organic solvents, preservatives, spices, refined lubricants and other industries.
Its raw materials come from a wide range of sources and are cheap. The common raw material is corn cob. Its main production principle is: under the action of a catalyst, the purified and crushed corn cob particles are heated and pressurized to hydrolyze the pentosan in the raw material into pentose sugars. Under the action of the catalyst, the pentose sugars are dehydrated to generate furfural.
