Distillation column


       Short-path distillation has the advantages of low distillation temperature, high distillation vacuum, and short heating time. It is suitable for the distillation and purification of high boiling point, heat-sensitive substances and easily oxidized substances. However, the short-path distillation tower is essentially a distillation equipment with a limited degree of separation. Even for molecular distillation, for those liquid mixtures with similar volatilities and molecular weights, even if multi-stage short-path distillation (or molecular distillation) is used, it is difficult to achieve a more complete separation effect. Therefore, a fractionating column with a larger number of theoretical plates must be used for the separation of these systems.
       In order to enable the fractionation tower to be well used in the separation of high-boiling point, heat-sensitive liquid mixtures, the fractionation system without material retention in the tower and its auxiliary equipment (reboiler) can be used for precision separation of high-boiling point, heat-sensitive substances, such as vacuum distillation in petroleum, chemicals, spices, medicine and other industries, as well as for isodigit separation and precision separation of other difficult-to-separate substances that require large theoretical boards. In this fractionation system, a packed tower (the tower is equipped with metal corrugated plates, metal mesh and other structured packing) is used as the fractionation tower to reduce the residence time of heat-sensitive substances in the tower and reduce the pressure drop. In order to prevent materials from being retained in the tower, the tower internals (such as feed distributors, collectors, support grids) are specially designed to prevent materials from being retained in the tower. At the same time, falling film evaporators and rotating film evaporators without material retention are used as reboilers.
       Sometimes, the product at the bottom of the fractionating tower needs further distillation to obtain good product color and purity. In this case, it is recommended that the customer uses short-path distillation or thin film evaporation to distill the product at the bottom of the fractionating tower.
