A tube-and-tube heat exchanger is a device that uses wall surfaces for heat exchange. Its main structure includes multiple parallel-arranged circular tubes, which are fixed on the tube plate to form a tube bundle. The tube bundle is surrounded by a shell, forming two separate fluid flow spaces: the tube side and the shell side. By adjusting the flow direction and speed of the two fluids, effective heat transfer is achieved.
During operation, one fluid (such as cold water or steam) flows inside the tube, and another fluid (such as hot water or coolant) flows on the shell side. According to the different flow modes of the fluid, it can be divided into co-current, counter-current and cross-flow types.
